Charles City Community School District Asked For Input on Facilities Master Planning Process
Charles City, IA – Charles City Community School District asked for input from community members as they address facility needs and plan for the future of their school buildings.
The public was invited to attend an Options Forum Open House on Feb 6th from 5-8 pm at Charles City Middle School. This was an "open house" format, where community members could attend at any time between the hours of 5 pm and 8 pm. After arriving, community members learned the history of school district planning efforts so far, including a recent assessment conducted by the ICAT (Iowa Construction Advocacy Team), which described the district facilities needs. Next, community members were able to see different scenarios developed by architects to meet these needs, and ask questions to understand the differences between the scenarios. This document was previously presented at the January 14, 2013 school board meeting in regards to a one campus versus two campus cost benefit analysis. After considering the different scenarios, community members were asked to share their thoughts and suggestions for improvements with the school district.
